HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Widener University men's lacrosse team got off to a good start, but the Pride fell to the No. 13 Stevens Ducks 19-8 on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue and Gold got the scoring started just 84 seconds into the contest as DiIorio found rope for his third goal of the season.
- After Stevens scored four in a row, Widener battled back, getting a goal by Certeza and two from Brady Franks in a span of just 1:51 to knot the score at 4-4 with 4:32 left in the opening frame.
- The Ducks responded, scoring eight in a row before Widener tallied again, this time from Gismondi with two minutes remaining before halftime.
- Cutting into the lead, the Pride netted two of the first three goals in the second half as DiIorio and Franks each found the back of the net, slicing the lead to 14-7 less than five minutes into the third quarter.
- Stevens clamped down on the defensive end and added a couple insurance markers to cement the final.

After having the weekend off, Widener opens MAC Commonwealth play on Wednesday, April 4 when it hosts Arcadia on Hirschmann Field at Quick Stadium. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
