GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Widener University men's volleyball team made the trip to Grantham, Pa. for a MAC battle against the Messiah Falcons on Saturday evening, falling 3-0 by scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-15.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Widener was led on the day by Wil Cacciatore who had seven kills in the contest.
- Matt Blaum continued his efficient hitting with four kills and just one error in 10 attempts for a .300 percentage.
- Connor Johnson led the Blue and Gold with 14 assists. A. J. Sungenis had six digs to go along with three kills.
- Widener jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the first set and was on top 6-2 before the Falcons scored eight of nine points to take a 10-7 lead. The Pride continued to battle and never let Messiah go up by more than four before the Falcons scored the final two points of the set to take the opener.
- In the second set, the Blue and Gold once again started strong, trailing only 6-5 before a 6-1 run put the Falcons up 12-6.
- Opening the third, Widener used some good defense to force hitting miscues from the Falcons and build and 8-5 lead before Messiah rallied to pull away in the frame.

The Pride is back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 28, hosting Wilkes in a MAC contest. Opening serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
