OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Wil Cacciatore combined for 16 kills as the Widener University men's volleyball team battled Stevenson and Hunter in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Pride was upended 3-0 in both contests.
 
HIGHLIGHTS VS. STEVENSON (13-25, 11-25, 14-25)

• Matt Blaum led the Pride with seven kills on the day and hit .214 for the match.
• Billy Barclay had 12 assists to lead the Blue and Gold.
• Connor had six digs to lead Widener.
• Cacciatore had a solid match with five kills and three digs.

 
HIGHLIGHTS VS. HUNTER (21-25, 18-25, 17-25)

• Cacciatore became the first Widener player to record double figures in kills, converting 11 successful attacks. He also had three digs.
• A.J. Sungenis contributed with nine kills in the match.
• The Pride hit .238 in the opening two sets and .170 overall in the match.
• Neither team held more than a three point lead throughout the first set before Hunter went up 24-20. A kill by Zac Piotti staved off set point before the Hawks closed it.

Widener returns to action for a MAC contest at Misericordia on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The game is a makeup of a contest from Feb. 7 that was postponed due to snow. Opening serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
