CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's basketball team secured its second MAC Commonwealth win of the season on Wednesday night, holding off a fourth quarter comeback from the Albright Lions en route to a 64-58 victory.
Albright jumped out to a five-point lead by the end of the first quarter.
Devan Rimmer had four points in the first 10 minutes. A 17-12 second quarter in favor of the Pride forced a tie game at the intermission.
Mackenzie McCracken finished with eight points in the first half.
Emma Gardy netted five points before the break.
Widener created some breathing room in the third quarter, generating a 14-point advantage with two minutes remaining in the quarter. It was the largest margin of the night for the Blue and Gold. A 10-zero run by the Lions in the fourth quarter knotted the game at 56. The Pride took back the lead thanks to five different players scoring in the quarter. Free throws by

Game Highlights:
- Rimmer matched a season-high with 23 points and was the team's leading scorer.
- Emma Gardy tallied a career-high 14 points. She went two-for-five from three and four-for-four from the foul line.
- Kyra Schenk was crucial off the bench. The sophomore had nine points and five boards.
- As always, Ireland created several scoring chances for her teammates. She had nine assists. She also recorded a career-high in rebounds with 13.
- Emily Hardy got after it on the defensive end with three steals and two blocks.
- Widener outrebounded Albright 47-46
- WU went 20-29 from the free-throw line
- 19 of Widener's points came via the fastbreak
