Boxscore MADISON, N.J. – The Widener University women's soccer team took a trip to FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon to face Rutgers-Camden in an ECAC first round match. The Pride bested the Scarlet Raptors by a score of 3-0.
Widener came out of the gates hot, putting up three goals in the first half. The first goal came less than three minutes in. One goal in the 20th minute and another in the 41st gave the Pride a comfortable lead at the intermission.
Both defenses tightened up in the second half, resulting in a scoreless final 45 minutes.It was the postseason victory for the Blue and Gold since it downed Carnegie Mellon in the ECAC semifinals in 2002.
First Half Summary:
- Bella Abrams got the Pride rolling at the 2:24 mark, capitalizing on an assist from Hannah Berard on the right side.
- Brielle Errico scored a beauty from 20 yards, beating a Scarlet Raptor defender then the keeper to give Widener a 2-0 advantage.
- Alex Polon provided WU its third goal of the first half. Mikaela Malofiy was on the assist.

- Widener fired off seven shots.
- Delaney Sabath added one save to go with her one in the first half.
