CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's swimming team won 13 of 14 events as the Pride opened the season with a 202-52 win against Stevenson on Saturday afternoon.
The Pride started the meet off well, winning the 200 medley relay as the squad of
Emma Reistle,
Sammy Grogan,
Jill Bujanowski, and
Kaylin Augustine clocked in at 1:55.17.
Reistle continued a strong meet, winning the 200 free in 2:04.44 and the 200 back in 2:18.67. She was also a part of the 200 free relay, joined by Augustine,
Lauren Griffith, and Bujanowski to touch the wall in 1:44.90.
Bujanowski also won two individual events, placing first in the 50 free and 200 IM with times of 25.47 and 2:18.45 respectively.
Sammy Grogan won both of the breaststroke events, clocking in at 1:12.11 in the 100 and 2:37.93 in the 200.
Nikki Mowry won both distance races, posting a time of 5:38.14 in the 500 free and 11:37.59 in the 1,000.
Widener returns to action on Saturday, October 20 when it competes against York (Pa.), Mary Washington, and Franklin & Marshall at the F&M Quad.
