FREDERICK, Md. – The Widener University women's volleyball team clinched a berth in the MAC Commonwealth Championship for the first time since 2016 with a 3-0 win against the Hood Blazers by set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-15 on Tuesday night.
 
GAME NOTES

• With her second dig of the night, Ashley McAfee became the second Widener player this season to record her 1,000th career dig. She ended the match with a team-high tying 14.
• Sydney Nichols posted a double-double with 19 assists and 11 digs.
• Nicole Dorman led the Pride with 11 kills. Claire Kaufmann had 10.
• Shelby Motz tied McAfee with 14 digs while adding four kills and four aces.
• Widener hit .262 for the match including .321 in the third set.
• The win was the 15th of the season for the Pride, the most for the team since the 2015 season.

Widener completes the regular season on Thursday when it hosts Arcadia for Senior Night. Opening serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Prior to the match, a ceremony will honor seniors Nicole Dorman, Kelsey Lee, and Natalie Winn.
