CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's soccer team picked up its third conference win of the season on Saturday evening, beating the Lycoming Warriors by a score of 3-1.
The Pride struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the 6th minute. Two more goals in the first 45 minutes allowed Widener to take a 3-0 lead into the break. Defensive adjustments in the second half limited scoring chances. Lycoming scored in the last minute of regulation to cement the final score.
Key Players:
- Amanda Roberts scored her first two goals of the season. She knocked in both goals with her head and they were a minute and 15 seconds apart from each other.
- Alyssa Dionisio scored her fourth goal of the season at the 5:50 mark.
- Brielle Errico set up Dionisio's goal with a beautiful through ball over the top of the defense.
