CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's soccer team battled MAC Commonwealth rival and #14 in the nation, Lycoming College, on Saturday night. The Pride fought hard for 90 minutes, but fell to the Warriors by a score of 2-1.
Widener fired off five shots in the first half. Two goals in first 45 minutes gave the Warriors the advantage at the break. The Pride attack was strong for last half of play, while the defense held Lycoming scoreless.
Adam Bailey dribbled the ball down the right side of the field in the 81st minute and sent a beautiful ball to the head of
Kevin McKenna, who placed it past the keeper, narrowing Lycoming's lead to one goal. Unfortunately, the Pride did not find the back of the net again.
