The tightly contested first quarter featured four lead changes and one tie. Widener rattled off three unanswered to take a 11-5 lead, which was capped with a layup from Ireland, but Cabrini put an end to the run by sinking its next two shots to cut the deficit back down to four. The Pride, however, did not back down and ended the opening frame on a high note when Gallagher connected on a layup to give the visitors a 22-15 edge through 10 minutes of play.
Widener was able to maintain its advantage for most of the second quarter, but a feisty Cabrini squad battled back and regained the lead when Lexi Edwards knocked down two free throws to make it 30-28 with 3:06 remaining. Widener then got a layup from Ireland to create a 30-30 tie, however, Kate Lannon sank her second free throw to put the Cavaliers up by one heading into the recess.
The Pride started the second half strong, as Gallagher and Schenk each drove in for layups to regain the lead two minutes into the frame. After exchanging back-to-back shots with the hosts,
Emily Hardy extended the Pride's lead to six by finishing a layup and Gallagher scored at the line to give the visitors a 50-43 edge with 1:33 on the clock. The Cavaliers, however, responded with a 3-pointer coming off the hands of Kate Lannon to keep the contest close.
Trailing by three with 24 seconds remaining, Widener had the ball and an opportunity to tie the game. After a Widener timeout, Ireland brought the ball down the court and set herself up for a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. The visitors had one last opportunity in the waning seconds but Ireland's attempt fell short at the buzzer.
Cabrini took a six point lead with a pair of free throws from Kate King with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, however,
Nikki Petri canned a trey to close the gap back down to three points with 11 seconds on the board. The visitors had two more chances in the final seconds, but it wasn't enough as the Cavaliers extended their lead to six with just four seconds left in the game.
