Men’s Soccer Battles Cabrini to Scoreless Draw in Non-Conference Match

CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener University men's soccer team battled a scoreless draw in double overtime at the Leslie C. Quick Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
 
KEY PLAYERS
  • Jordan Katz made four saves earning his second clean sheet of the season.
  • Kevin McKenna led Widener with four shots respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a scoreless first half, the Pride had one of their best opportunities in the 52nd minute when Kevin Lindsay ripped a shot just left of the goal post.
  • Towards the end of the first overtime Kevin McKenna found an opportunity with nearly five minutes remaining, however, Mike Gould made the save to keep Cabrini alive.
  • Widener had one more chance in the final minute of play, but McKenna's shot from close range was turned aside by the Cavalier's defense.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Widener was outshot by Cabrini 11-8.
  • Both teams executed three corner kicks.

Widener returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 6 as they take on Swarthmore. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Clothier Fields in Swarthmore, Pa.
