SWARTHMORE, Pa. — The Widener University men's soccer team fought hard but fell to Swarthmore by a 1-0 decision on Wednesday afternoon at Clothier Field.

KEY PLAYERS

• Both John Colbert and Noah Saba took two shots and registered one shot on goal.
• Jordan Katz made three saves in the losing effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Devon Santos had a late opportunity in the 42nd minute of play, however, the shot went wide and the first half remained scoreless.
• Towards the end of the second half, Widener registered three shots and two corner kicks within three minutes.
• Capitalizing off of a Widener foul, Swarthmore found an opportunity a minute later and took the lead for good in the 82nd minute.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Widener outshot Swarthmore 11-4 in the second half and 16-13 overall.
