HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Widener University women's soccer team played an even second half against Haverford, but a rough first stanza saw the Fords upend the Pride 4-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
All four of the Haverford goals came in a 19 minute stretch midway through the first half. Widener evened out the play in the second half as shots in the frame were even at five apiece. For the match, each squad took four corners.
Sam Thach made seven saves for the Blue and Gold.
Widener returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Lycoming to open MAC Commonwealth play.
