CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's volleyball team won a hardfought first set before being upended 3-1 by the Alvernia Golden Wolves in a MAC Commonwealth match on Tuesday evening.

Nicole Dorman led the Pride on the day with 12 kills and 13 digs for her eighth double-double of the season while also recording four aces.
Sydney Nichols had 26 assists and
Ashley McAfee delivered 17 digs.
Natalie Winn came up big on the defensive side with seven blocks.

Widener won the first set 25-23 behind a scorching .375 hitting percentage. Dorman led the team with four kills while nine of the 10 players that saw the floor in the opening set had at least one successful attack. The Golden Wolves were able to battle back and win the final three sets behind a .333 hitting percentage and nine service aces while the Blue and Gold hit .096.

The Pride returns to action on Friday when it competes against Cabrini at the Swarthmore Quad. First serve is set for 5:00 p.m.
