Walker scores OT Game-Winner as Field Hockey Wins at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Freshman Kelsi Walker scored her first collegiate goal to propel the Widener University field hockey team to a 1-0 victory in overtime on Saturday evening at Arnold Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first half was an even match with Widener outshooting the Dutchmen 7-6.
  • Eliza Newlin led the Pride offense in the first frame with four shots.
  • The Pride came out stronger in the second half outshooting Lebanon Valley 6-2, however, neither team put one away forcing the game into overtime.
  • With the game tied 0-0, Walker found the back of the net five minutes into extra play to end the game and give the Pride the 1-0 victory. Sam Scoma was credited with the assist.
  • Widener outshot Lebanon Valley 15-8 overall and earned 13 corners.

Widener will return home on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m. as they take on DeSales.
