GLENSIDE, Pa. - Making its first MAC Commonwealth Championship appearance since 2008, the Widener University women's soccer team was dealt a 3-0 loss against the Arcadia Knights on Thursday evening at Jean Lenox West Field.
Despite an even 5-5 shot ratio in the first half, Arcadia took the lead early with two back-to-back goals. After the Knights second goal, Widener did not let down and continued to apply heavy pressure while firing off three consecutive shots.
Coming out of halftime, Widener went directly at the opposition.
Eva Reyes had the first shot of the half just under two minutes after the whistle blew. Arcadia was able to find the back of the net one last time, however, Reyes had the final opportunity of the game for Widener with seconds remaining. Sam Thach had a standout half with seven saves in net for the Pride.
