SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Three players scored in double figures and 12 different members of the Widener University women's basketball team tallied at least two points as the Pride opened its season with a resounding 91-57 victory against the Swarthmore Garnet on Wednesday night.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Nikki Petri led the Blue and Gold, tying a career-high with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
- Emily Hardy and Madison Ireland also tallied double digits with 12 and 10 respectively. Hardy topped the team with six rebounds while Ireland led with five assists.
- As a team, Widener shot 52.9 percent (36-for-68) from the floor and went 9-for-19 from three-point range.
- The 91 points are the most for Widener since netting 95 against Marywood on Nov. 22, 2016. It is the most in a road game since Dec. 12, 2012 when the Blue and Gold tallied 106 at Arcadia.

FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
- After falling behind 4-2 early in the period, the Pride responded, using a 20-4 run during the next 4:47 to build a 22-8 lead before ending the frame up by 11.
- The Blue and Gold shot 8-for-13 in the quarter
- Devan Rimmer led the way with seven points, connecting on all three of her shots including a triple.

SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
- The offense exploded in the frame as Widener outscored Swarthmore 33-10 in the frame on its way to a 55-21 halftime lead.
- The Garnet hung around in the early stages of the stanza, but a 13-2 run during the final 2:31 of the quarter, ignited by a Petri three-pointer and capped by back-to-back buckets by Julia Venturelli helped the Pride pull away.
- Petri scored 10 points in the frame and Hardy had nine with four boards.

THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
- An evenly matched period, Widener saw seven different players score.
- The Pride connect on 5-of-6 attempts at the line in the frame.
- Breezy Cullen had three rebounds to pace the Blue and Gold.

FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
- Widener got back to its hot shooting, hitting 45 percent of its shots in the stanza.
- Tatiana Pleasant and Izzy Hamlin netted their first career points in the quarter.
