Boxscore OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Dylan Pratzner registered his first goal of the season to tie the game in the second half, however, the Widener University men's soccer team fell short as they were dealt a 2-1 loss in overtime against Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Stadium
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stevenson opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a penalty kick, but Widener did not let up and went right back at the Mustangs with a shot from Nick Sienkiewicz less than three minutes later.
- Widener was able to get one more shot off from Logan Musselman in the 43rd minute before entering the half down by one goal.
- After receiving an assist from Matt Perri, Pratzner was able to fire one off from inside the box and put it away to tie the game 1-1.
- Widener had nine more shots and the final opportunity of regulation before entering overtime.
- Tied 1-1, the Pride continued to battle earning the first shot of the period from Jude Morgan, however, the Mustang's then answered back with a second tally to end the game 2-1.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Danny Thompson made nine saves out of eleven shots on goal in between the pipes for Widener.
- The Pride out shot the Mustangs 20-17 and had a slight 4-3 edge on corner kicks.
