HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took just over two minutes in the first half for Widener to get on the board, as Lopez received a crossing pass into the box from Joaquim Klippenstein and headed the ball into the back of the net. A little over 10 minutes later, Michael Panno put the Pride up 2-0 with his second goal of the season. Alvernia scored two goals in the 17th minute and 32nd minute to level the score at two before Lopez scored his second goal of the match 16 seconds after Alvernia's tying goal to push the Pride back ahead. Nick Polidoro got involved in the scoring frenzy two minutes after Lopez's go-ahead goal to double the Pride lead. Widener would take the 4-2 lead into halftime.
- The pace of play slowed down in the second half and Widener was able to protect their two-goal lead and scored a couple of insurance goals in the final two minutes of play. Klippenstein scored the first goal of his collegiate career in the 89th minute before Owen Eberman scored on a volley from over 65 yards out to secure the 6-2 Widener decision.
