Carly Histing had seven kills and five blocks to lead the Widener University women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win against the Hood Blazers in a MAC Commonwealth match on Tuesday night, claiming the three sets 25-17, 25-21, 25-17. Prior to the match, the women's volleyball team honored Histing and
Audrey Rucker for their four years of service to the program.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Nicole Dorman led the Pride with 10 kills in the match while Natalie Winn had eight. Winn hit a blistering .500 with Dorman connecting at a .292 rate.
- As a team, Widener hit .248 for the match.
- The Blue and Gold had a season-high 12 blocks.
- Ashley McAfee had a team best 10 digs.
- Sydney Nichols and Liz Kwon delivered double-digits in assists with 17 and 14 respectively.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS
- With the Blazers leading 4-3 early in the opening stanza, Widener ripped off six points in a row and 12 of the next 13 to take a 15-5 advantage.
- Widener led 21-11 before Hood closed the gap to 22-16 before the Pride tallied three of the final four points to win the set.
- Histing and Winn had three kills each while Histing recorded three blocks.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS
- The Blue and Gold never trailed in the frame, opening up a 9-3 lead on its way to going up 19-12.
- The Blazers battled back, scoring five in a row to slice the edge to 19-17.
- Widener never let Hood get closer than two as the Pride won four of the final six points.
- The Blue and Gold hit .294 in the set, led by Claire Kaufmann who had five kills without an error in eight attacks.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS
- Widener once again never trailed in the set, using a 10-3 run to open a 12-5 lead.
- Hood battled back, closing the gap to 12-11 before a 9-2 Pride spurt effectively closed the set.
- Dorman had five kills for Widener in the frame.
