FREDERICK, Md. (Nov. 5, 2015) – The Widener University women's swimming team earned two victories at a quad meet hosted by Hood on Saturday afternoon. The Pride earned a 151-46 win over Hood and a 166-19 victory over FDU-Florham while also dropping a 126-78 decision to Messiah.
Freshman
Nikki Mowry (Millersville, Pa.) led the Pride at the scoring meet by winning the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:20.50. She also finished first in the 500 free by clocking in at 5:30.54.
Another notable performance for the Pride was made by
Melaney Heald (Georgetown, Del.). The senior won the 200 free in 2:00.48.
Widener (5-1, MAC 5-1) will next travel to Lancaster, Pa. to swim at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational. The three-day meet will begin on Friday, Nov. 18.
