Women’s Soccer Drops Conference Match to #13 Arcadia

CHESTER, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2016) - The Widener University women's soccer team dropped its final home conference match of the season to nationally-ranked Arcadia by a 3-0 score on Wednesday evening at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.

Widener (3-11-2, MAC Commonwealth 1-6-0) fought hard in the first half and maintained majority of possession to hold Arcadia scoreless during the frame. The Knights nearly put one away when Veronica Garcia found an opportunity, but the attempt was blocked by sophomore Gabrielle Campbell (Mickleton, N.J.) in the waning seconds of the frame to keep the Pride alive.

Arcadia's Lennon Kramer opened the scoring in the 54th minute of the second half, and the Knights never looked back. The visitors put away two more back-to-back insurance markers to end the match with a 3-0 decision.

Evelyn Feigeles made three saves to pick up the victory for Arcadia (16-1, MAC Commonwealth 6-1). Widener's Jenna Keating (Havertown, Pa.) finished with nine saves in the setback.

The Pride wrap up their 2016 campaign when they visit Hood on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 12 p.m.
