Men's Basketball Drops Road Contest to Conference Foe Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 13, 2016) – The Widener men's basketball entered half-time squared at 38, but could not come away with the victory as they fell to Lebanon Valley, 78-69, on Wednesday at the Sorrentino Gymnasium.
 
The Pride fall to 5-9 overall and 1-5 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play, while the Dutchmen improve to 11-4 and 5-1 in conference play.
 
Kendall Green (Mount Laurel, N.J.) recorded a team high 18 points on seven-of-13 shooting from the field. The junior guard added six rebounds, one steal and an assist in 33 minutes of play.
 
Widener recorded 32 points in the paint and 20 points off of 20 Lebanon Valley turnovers. Senior David Nicholson (Odenton, Md.) finished with 14 points and two steals in 24 minutes of action. The forward was six-of-12 from the field.
 
Lebanon Valley was led by 35 points from sophomore Andy Orr. The forward was 12-of-19 from the field, including three-of-four from three-point range.
 
Junior John Fender (Wallingford, Pa.) added 13 points for the Blue and Gold. The guard finished with two steals and three rebounds, with two of them coming on the defensive glass. Ryan McMahon (Mount Laurel, N.J.) recorded a career high 12 points on three-of-four shooting, including a perfect two-of-two from behind the arc.
 
The Pride will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to take on Messiah in Grantham, Pa. Tip-off for the MAC Commonwealth game is set for 5:00 p.m.
