Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Second Half Push Not Enough For Men's Soccer Against FDU-Florham

CHESTER, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2015) – The Widener men's soccer team pressured FDU-Florham in the second half, but were unable to come away with the victory as they fell to the Devils, 1-0, on Saturday night at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
 
The Pride fall to 4-4-1, while the Devils improve to 4-4-1. '
 
Widener outshot FDU-Florham 8-3 in the second half, and held the advantage in the game 11-10. The Blue and Gold forced the Devils keeper, Nick Mihalik, to make a few tough saves on the ground in the second half.
 
Jonathan Rouse (New Freedom, Pa.) recorded two saves in 90 minutes played for the Pride. Early in the first half, the junior goalie received some help from his defense as they made a two saves to keep the game scoreless after a loose ball in the box got away from him.
 
Senior Eric Taylor (Bensalem, Pa.) recorded two shots with one on target for the Blue and Gold. Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, N.J.), Malik Krcic (Saylorsburg, Pa.) and freshman Khabir Baukman (Waldorf, Md.) each added two shots in the game.
 
Andrew Ruane recorded the only goal of the game for the Devils in the 42nd minute. Ruane found a loose ball in the box after a free kick from just outside the top of the box.
 
Widener will be back in action on Wednesday as they host Stevens Institute of Technology at 7 p.m. at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
