Men's Soccer Drops Non-Conference Finale Against Stevens

CHESTER, Pa. (September 30, 2015) – The Widener men's soccer team dropped its non-conference season finale, 2-1, on Wednesday to Stevenson at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
 
The Pride drop to 4-5-1, while Stevens improves to 6-1-2.
 
Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, N.J.) knocked home a penalty kick in the 62nd minute to cut into the Ducks lead.
 
Carson Pryor opened the scoring for Stevens in the sixth minute when he received a free kick from Colin Phillips. Pryor found the back of the net as he tapped home a free kick for his eighth goal of the season.
 
A few minutes later, Phillips recorded the game-winner for his sixth goal of the season, as he headed home a cross from Tommy Dorsay.
 
Stevens held the advantage over Widener in shots taken, 14-11, including six shots on target for the Ducks. The Pride recorded five shots on net, forcing Mike Renna to make four saves. Junior David Sousa (Springfield, Pa.) recorded four saves for Widener.
 
Remondelli finished with five shots, while junior Tommy O'Keefe (Lutherville, Md.) added two, and Ross Staudt (Marlton, N.J.), Eric Taylor (Bensalem, Pa.), John Colbert (Louisville, Ky.), and Mac Schailey (State College, Pa.) each added one.
 
Widener will open the MAC Commonwealth schedule on Saturday as they host Lebanon Valley at 7 p.m.  at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
