O'Keefe Leads Men's Soccer to Non-Conference Victory Over Rosemont

CHESTER, Pa. (Sept. 23, 2015) – Junior Tommy O'Keefe (Lutherville, Md.) notched two points as the Widener men's soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over Rosemont at Leslie C. Quick Stadium on Wednesday.

The Blue and Gold improve to 4-3-1, while the Ravens fall to 0-7-1.

O'Keefe gave the Pride a two-goal advantage in the 12th minute of play as he found the back of the net. The early first half goal was the second of the season for the junior midfielder.

Freshman Kevin McKenna (North Wales, Pa.) opened the scoring for the Blue and Gold in the third minute of play when he deflected home a shot taken by senior Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, N.J.).  The forward deflected the ball into the bottom right of the net past a diving keeper.

Remondelli later connected on a penalty kick in the 50th minute for the Pride.

Widener recorded 30 shots to Rosemont's four, with 13 of the Pride's shot being on target. The Ravens could not find an offensive drive and forced goalkeeper Jonathan Rouse (New Freedom, Pa.) to only make two saves.

Freshman Dylan Pratzner (Wallingford, Pa.) connected for his third goal of the season with a chip over the goalie from five yards out in the 48th minute. Remondelli was credited with the assist.

Widener will be back in action on Saturday as they host FDU-Florham at 7 p.m. at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
