Wilson's Hat-Trick Leads Women's Soccer to Victory Over Immaculata, 5-0

IMMACULATA, Pa. (September 10, 2015) – Led by sophomore Lauren Wilson (National Park, N.J.), the Widener women's soccer team earned its first victory of the 2015 campaign with a 5-0 rout of Immaculata on Thursday.
 
The Pride improved to 1-2-1, while the Mighty Macs fell to 0-3-1.
 
Wilson recorded the first multi goal game of the season as she notched three goals for the Blue and Gold. The sophomore forward scored her first goal of the season in the 11th minute as she gave the Pride a two-goal advantage. Junior Karli Luker (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) assisted the first goal of the season for Wilson.
 
She added her second goal in the 55th minute, and closed out the game with her third goal for a hat trick in the 69th minute. Wilson's goal in the 55th minute was unassisted, while her goal in the 69th minute was assisted by sophomore Eva Reyes (Cranbury, N.J.).
 
Freshman Brielle Errico (Monmouth, N.J.) opened the scoring in the sixth minute with her first career goal. The forward's goal was assisted by freshman Brandy Toso (Millville, N.J.).
 
Senior Nicole Foschini (Laurel Springs, N.J.), assisted by Brooke Palmieri (Erial, N.J.) notched her first goal of the season in the 41st minute.
 
Goalkeeper Olivia Pfautz (Ephrata, Pa.) recorded four saves in the victory.
 
Widener outshot Immaculata, 22-5, and held the advantage in corner kicks 10-1.
 
The Pride will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to take on Franklin and Marshall at 4 p.m. in Lancaster, Pa.
