CHESTER, Pa. (Mar. 11, 2015) – In its 2015 Commonwealth Conference opener, the Widener men's lacrosse team fell to Albright by a score of 13-4 on Wednesday night at Leslie C. Quick Stadium in Chester, Pa.
Albright improves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference action, while Widener dips to 0-5 on the year and 0-1 in Commonwealth play.
The Lions opened the game with an 8-0 run, with tallies coming off the sticks of seven different scorers including two from Andrew Potter. Junior attacker
Tim Taylor (Philadelphia, Pa.) ended the Pride scoring draught with an unassisted goal with 2:23 left to play in the first half.
Opening the second half with five unanswered goals, Albright pulled ahead 13-1. Sophomore midfielder
Vince Marra (Morton, Pa.) gave Widener a little life in the fourth quarter as he notched back-to-back scores in a 1:05 span, the latter coming off a helper from freshman midfielder
Patrick Richardson (Westville, N.J.). For the final tally of the game, Taylor fed Richardson for the freshman's first career goal.
The two teams each scooped up 35 ground balls, while Albright held a 13-8 advantage on face-offs. The home squad was 12-for-13 on clear attempts, with the Lions successfully completing 13-of-15 attempts.

Tyler McClary (Galena, Ohio) made a game-high 12 saves during his 45:03 minutes in goal.
