Women's Basketball Battles Lycoming in Commonwealth Conference Tilt

Women's basketball fought hard but could not come up with the crucial victory as Widener fell to Lycoming, 64-54, at the Schwartz Center.
 
Junior Brianna Wylie (Mount Laurel, NJ) recorded 12 points and seven rebounds against the Warriors. She shot four-of-eight from the field and equally as good from the free throw line. Wylie added seven rebounds and one steal.
 
Allison Gallagher (Souderton, PA) added 12 points for the Pride. She finished with three assist and two steals in the contest. The freshman guard shot four-of-six from the free throw line and four-of-14 from the field.
 
Lycoming (14-7, 6-6 CC) earned their first ever victory against the Pride in Chester, PA. The Warriors were led by an 18 point outing from Chelsea Henderson. She shot a perfect six-of-six from the field. The guard added six-of-nine from the free throw line to her score sheet.
 
Widener (9-12, 3-9 CC) held the advantage on the glass over the Warriors, 53-33. The Pride finished with 28 defensive boards, and 25 on the offensive side.
 
Freshman Julia Venturelli (Bridgewater, NJ) added 11 points for the Pride. She finished with one rebound and shot four-of-11 from the field.
 
Widener will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to take on Lebanon Valley in Annville, PA at 2:00 pm in Commonwealth play.
