Gratz Records Two Assists in Men's Lacrosse Season Opener Loss to Salisbury

SALISBURY, MD. (Feb. 23, 2014) - Junior attackman Kyle Gratz (Worthington, Ohio) notched two assists as Widener men's lacrosse fell to No. 7 Salisbury, 12-2, in its season opener on Monday at Sea Gull Stadium.
 
Gratz's first assist came in the second period on a man-up goal by junior attackman Tim Taylor (Philadelphia, Pa.), while his second came on sophomore attackman Tyler Schulte's (Southhampton, N.J.) first marker of the season.
 
Salisbury (2-1) opened the scoring just over two minutes into the game on an unassisted tally by Thomas Cirillo. The junior later recorded his sixth score of the season mid-way through the fourth period. Dan Feeney registered seven saves in 55 minutes of action for the win.
 
Widener (0-1) totaled 13 shots and went one-of-three on the extra-man opportunities in the game. Junior goalie Chris Treat (Havertown, Pa.) recorded 12 saves in the cage for the Pride.
 
The Pride will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Swarthmore at 12:00 p.m. in Swarthmore, Pa.
