Women's Basketball Falls in Battle on the Road to Hood

Freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton, PA) led women's basketball in a road battle as Widener fell to Hood, 68-62 in Frederick, MD.
 
The guard recorded a team high 16 points and added a game high five assist against the Blazers. Gallagher shot seven-of-17 from the field and added five rebounds in 40 minutes played.
 
Guard Ally Ferrucci (Vineland, NJ) finished with 13 points and three rebounds. The junior shot five-of-11 from the field and recorded two steals in 37 minutes played.
 
Forward Rachel Wiley recorded a double-double in the win for Hood (5-17, 3-10). She finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds in 37 minutes played.
 
Widener (9-15, 3-11 CC) received the 23 points off of the bench and 18 points off of turnovers.
 
Junior Brianna Wylie (Mount Laurel, NJ) recorded a team high 11 rebounds. Eight of the forward's boards came on the defensive glass. Wylie scored six points and recorded two blocks in 17 minutes played.
 
The Pride will be back in action on Saturday as they host Alvernia at 1:00 pm at the Schwartz Center. The Commonwealth game will serve as the Play 4Kay game, as Widener will wear pink uniforms to raise awareness for breast cancer research.
