Kamara Records Double-Double as Men's Basketball Falls to Hood on the Road

Men's basketball fought hard in the Commonwealth battle, but Widener was unable to come away with the victory as the Pride fell to Hood, 63-61 in Frederick, MD.
 
Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) recorded a double-double in the loss against the Blazer. The junior finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds in 27 minutes played. He added one block and one assist for the Pride.
 
Junior Carlos Taylor (Upper Darby, PA) finished with 13 points in 20 minutes played. He shot four-of-six from the field, including two-of-four from three point range. Taylor added one steal, one rebound and one block against the Blazers.
 
Terell Buyck recorded a game high 17 points in the victory for Hood (11-11, 7-6 CC). He shot five-of-ten from the field and five-of-five from the free throw line.
 
Widener (9-14, 2-12 CC) out rebounded the Blazers 41-27. The Pride recorded 11 points off of turnovers and 15 second chance points.  
 
Sophomore Kendall Green (Mount Laurel, NJ) recorded nine points and eight rebounds. Six of the guard's eight rebounds came on the defensive glass. He added two steals and one assist in 29 minutes played.
 
Widener will be back in action on Saturday at 3:00 pm against Alvernia at the Schwartz Center.
