GRANTHAM, Pa. (Nov. 7, 2015) – The Widener University women's swimming team earned two victories at its quad meet hosted by Messiah on Saturday afternoon. The Pride earned a 166-31 win over FDU-Florham and a 141-63 victory over Hood while also dropping a 137-67 decision to the host Falcons.
Senior
Erin Neugebauer (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led the Pride at the scoring meet by winning the 100-yard breaststroke in a pool-record time of 1:09.91. She also swam on the winning 200 free relay that clocked in at 1:42.94 and also included junior
Melaney Heald (Georgetown, Del.), freshman
Lauren Griffith (Doylestown, Pa.) and sophomore
Christine Kunzler (Livermore, Calif.)
Another notable performance for the Pride was made by
Alyssa Myers (Broomall, Pa.). The freshman won the 1,000 free in 11:21.70.
Widener (4-2, MAC 4-1) returns to the Schwartz Center to host crosstown rival Swarthmore on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1:00 p.m.
