GRANTHAM, Pa. (Nov. 7, 2015) – The Widener University men's swimming team swept its competition at a quad meet hosted by Messiah on Saturday afternoon. The Pride earned a 169-26 victory over FDU-Florham, a 122-82 win over Hood and triumphed by a 129-75 decision against the host Falcons.
Freshman
Aaron Green (Camden-Wyoming, Del.) and junior
Michael Grajek (Freehold, N.J.) paced Widener by winning two individual events and swimming on a first-place relay. Grajek opened the meet by swimming the leadoff leg for the 200-yard medley relay that clocked in at 1:39.59 before capturing the 200 free in 1:48.09 and 100 back in 55.05 seconds. Green, meanwhile, took first in the 100 IM in 55.57 and 100 fly in 54.83 before leading off the 200 free relay that hit the wall in 1:27.26.
Junior captain
Ian Gaynor (Donegal, Ireland) also won multiple events to help pace the Pride. He was victorious in the 100 free in 46.64 and anchored the 200 free relay that broke a pool record by outdistancing its competition by nearly five seconds. Senior captain

Jeffery Hicks (White Haven, Pa.), sophomore
Tom Platt (Wallingford, Pa.) and junior
Jeremy Lahn (Philadelphia, Pa.) also swam on one of the two winning relays to contribute to the team's success.
Widener (5-1, MAC 4-1) returns to the Schwartz Center to host crosstown rival Swarthmore on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1:00 p.m.
