Three Score a Pair of Goals as Men's Soccer Routs MAC Commonwealth Foe Albright

READING, Pa. (October 4, 2015) – Three scored two goals apiece as the Widener men's soccer team earned a demanding 7-0 victory over Albright in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play on Tuesday.
 
The Pride improve to 5-6-1 on the season and 1-1 in league play, while the Lions fall to 1-9-1 overall and 0-2 in MAC Commonwealth action.
 
Kevin McKenna (North Wales, Pa.) notched two goals in the victory for the Blue and Gold. The freshman forward opened the scoring in the 20th minute as he put home a pass from senior defender Malik Krcic (Saylorsburg, Pa.).
 
McKenna found the back of the net in the 67th minute as he gave Widener a five-goal advantage with his fourth goal of the season.
 
Senior Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, N.J.) knocked home a penalty kick for his team leading eighth goal of the year.
 
Widener held the advantage for shots in the game as they had 20, compared to the three taken by Albright. At half, the Pride outshot the Lions 13-1.  
 
Freshman Dylan Pratzner (Wallingford, Pa.) connected on his fourth and fifth goals of the season just before half in the league contest. In the 42nd minute of play, the forward knocked home a pass from Remondelli. Just minutes later, he put a pass from classmate Mac Schailey (State College, Pa.) into the back of the net.
 
Kyle Lynch (Hatboro, Pa.) added two goals in the victory for Widener. The senior forward put home his first two goals of the season in the 69th and 82nd minutes.
 
Goalkeeper David Sousa (Springfield, Pa.) recorded two saves in net for Pride, while Austin Aldinger was forced to make eight saves for Albright.
 
Widener will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to take on Stevenson in MAC Commonwealth action at 7:00 p.m. in Owings Mills, Md.
