Men's Swimming Knocks Off Scranton in Non-Conference Home Dual Meet

CHESTER, Pa. (October 24, 2015) – The Widener men's team earned a 182-80 victory over Scranton in a non-conference meet on Saturday at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

On his way to two individual victories, Andy Madore (State College, Pa.) helped the Pride to a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The senior won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:17.67, while he finished the 200-yard IM in 2:08.45 for a first place finish.

Madore added a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.91. Freshman Aaron Green (Camden-Wyoming, Del.) narrowly beat out Madore in the event for what would have been his fourth victory of the day. Green finished the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.44.

Green and Madore teamed up with junios Michael Grajek (Freehold, N.J.) and Ian Gaynor (Donegal, Ireland) for a victory in the 200-yard medley relay. The four recorded a time of 1:37.76 in the victory.

Gaynor added a pair of individual victories for the Pride. He finished the 50-yard freestyle in first with a time of 21.08, and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.44.

The Blue and Gold will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Reading, Pa. to take on Albright at 1:00 p.m.
