Remondelli Leads Men's Soccer to Victory Over Hood on Senior Day

CHESTER, Pa. (Oct. 17, 2015) –  Senior Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, N.J.) notched the lone goal as the Widener men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Hood in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play on Saturday at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.

Widener improves to 6-7-1 and 2-2 in league play, while the Blazers fall to 11-5 and 2-2 in the MAC Commonwealth. Each team now has six conference points.

The senior midfielder put home a ball into the upper right corner of the net in the ninth minute for the Pride. Remondelli received the ball from classmate Zac Furia (Springfield, Pa.), who recorded a small little heel pass from Ross Staudt (Marlton, N.J.).

The Pride held possession for most of the game as they outshot Hood, 11-5, including three shots to one on net. Junior David Sousa (Springfield, Pa.) recorded one save in net for his second victory of the year.

Remondelli finished the game with four shots, while Furia and freshman Dylan Pratzner (Wallingford, Pa.) finished the match with two-apiece. Staudt, Kevin McKenna (North Wales, Pa.) and Khabir Baukman (Waldorf, Md.) each added a shot for the Blue and Gold.

Romo Monarrez was the only player for Hood that forced Sousa to make a play.

Prior to the game, the men's soccer program honor the 12 seniors, who are closing in on their final games in a Pride uniform.

Widener will be back in action on Tuesday as they host Messiah in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play at 7:00 p.m. at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.
