Women's Basketball Falls to Albright in Commonwealth Play

Women's basketball challenged Commonwealth opponent Albright, but were unable to come home with a victory as Widener fell, 72-58, in Reading, Pa.
 
Kristina Reiter (Sewell, NJ) led all scorers with 18 points. The senior guard added three assist, two rebounds and two steals. She shot six-of-11 from the field, including four-of-six from three-point range.
 
Sophomore Aly Furgiuele (Norwalk, CT) led the Pride with seven rebounds. All of her rebounds came on the defensive end.
 
Jane Joyce recorded 17 points and nine rebounds for Albright (14-4, 8-1 CC). Emily O'Donnell added a game high 11 rebounds and five points for the Lions.
 
Widener (8-11, 2-8 CC) recorded 24 points in the paint against the Lions. The Pride recorded 25 defensive rebounds against Albright. The Lions rank second in the Commonwealth Conference with 845 team rebounds.
 
Junior Ally Ferrucci (Vineland, NJ) finished with six assist and five points. The guard added three rebounds and two steals for the Pride.
 
Widener will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Grantham, PA to take on Messiah at 3:00 pm in Commonwealth action.
