Swimming Closes Out Regular Season with Sweep Over Arcadia

Widener men's and women's swimming teams closed out the regular season with wins over Arcadia in Glenside, Pa.
 
The women defeated the Knights 159-90, while the men defeated Arcadia, 156-102.
 
Erin Neugebauer (Eden Prairie, MN) recorded three victories in the regular season finale for the Pride. She earned  victories in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard IM.  In the 100-yard breaststroke, she recorded a time of 1:10.94.
 
The sophomore recorded a time of 2:33.04 in the 200-yard breaststroke and finished her meet up with a time of 2:19.73 in the 200-yard IM.
 
Neugebauer teamed up with junior Annie Walker (New Castle, DE), and freshman Christine Kunzler (Livermore, CA) and Liz O'Sullivan (Somers Point, NJ) to win the 200-yard medley relay. The group recorded a time of 1:57.97.
 
Kunzler also won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.64 and the 50-yard freestyle. She finished the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.67.
 
On the men's side, sophomore Ian Gaynor won three events for the Pride. He finished the 200-yard freestyle in 1:47.34. The 2014 Middle Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Year finished the 50-yard freestyle in first place with a time of 21.70.
 
Gaynor added a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. He recorded a time of 47.56.
 
The team of junior Andy Madore (State College, Pa), sophomore Michael Grajek (Freehold, NJ), and freshman Evan Perkowski (Waynesboro, Pa) and Tom Platt (Wallingford, Pa) won the 200-yard medley relay. They finished the event in a time of 1:42.57.
 
The Pride will compete at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on February 12th-15th in York, Pa.
