Women's Basketball Falls Short to Hood; Win Streak Snapped at Four

Women's basketball fought hard but was unable to steal a win at home as Widener fell to Hood, 71-58, at the Schwartz Center.
 
Junior Ally Ferrucci (Vineland, NJ) led Pride scores with 17 points. She added four rebounds and four assist in the Commonwealth Conference match-up.
 
Julia Venturelli (Bridgewater, NJ) added a career high 16 points in 24 minutes played. The freshman shot five-of-nine from the field and recorded two rebounds and two steals.
 
Hood (4-10, 2-3 CC) was led by guard Rachel Kessler with a game high 20 points. The senior completed her double-double with 12 rebounds. The Blazers also received a 15 point effort from Allie Appleby.
 
The Pride received ten points and three rebounds from freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton, Pa). Senior Courtney Colella (Cinnaminson, NJ) recorded seven rebounds and six points for the Pride.
 
Widener (8-7, 2-4 CC) saw their four game win streak snapped. The Pride will be back in action on Wednesday in Reading, Pa to take on Alvernia at 6:00 pm in Commonwealth Conference action.
