Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Stays Red Hot With Fifth Straight Win, 2-1 at FDU-Florham

Freshman John Colbert (Louisville, KY) scored the deciding goal in the 80th minute to help Widener rally for its fifth straight victory, 2-1 at FDU-Florham in Madison, NJ.

The Pride (7-1-1) scored twice in just over 10 minutes to continue their best start in school history and notch their longest winning streak since opening the 2003 campaign 6-0.

Junior Eric Bihlear (Tabernacle, NJ) scored in the 70th minute to lift Widener to a 1-1 tie, firing a shot from 25 yards for his first goal of the season and second career.

The Pride were not done in their final regular-season, non-league game.  Colbert lowered the curtain on the victory when his shot deflected in off a defender for his first collegiate goal.

Sophomore Dave Sousa (Springfield, PA) made four saves and Remondelli fired three shots for the Pride, who posted a 7-2 shots edge in the second half.

Dylan Meyler scored for the Devils (2-5-3) in the 25th minute.  JT Bretschneider made four saves and Igor Petrovic had three shots.

Widener opens Commonwealth Conference play next Saturday at reigning national champion and top-ranked Messiah, starting at 7:30 pm in Grantham, PA.
