Remondelli Nets Three as Men's Soccer Defeats Lancaster Bible


Junior Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, NJ) scored three times as Widener defeated Lancaster Bible 3-0 at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.  
 
Remondelli's three goals moved him into fourth all-time on the single season goals list with 10 for the 2014 campaign.
 
The first goal came in the 13th minute when goalkeeper Andrew Kofstad made the initial stop on Remondelli. The junior netted the loose ball into the low right corner pass two defenders to give the Pride a lead.
 
Adding three to the impressive list of goals for Remondelli, the junior moved into second all-time for career goals with 22.
 
Remondelli scored a second time in the 53rd minute when Alec DelConte (North Cape May, NJ) was pulled down in the box.  He then added a third in the 71st minute as he put home another penalty kick to give Widener (6-1-1) a three-goal advantage.
 
Remondelli sits fourth in school history with 23 points in a season and fifth with 50 career points.
 
Sophomore Dave Sousa (Springfield, Pa) recorded 13 saves in his fifth shutout of the season. Lancaster Bible forced Sousa to make tough plays early in the second half.
 
Widener was outshot by Lancaster Bible (5-4) in the game, 17-13.
 
The Pride are back on the pitch as they travel to FDU-Florham on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
