Baseball Game Friday Vs. Messiah Moved Up to a 3:00 pm Start

In an attempt to keep Mother Nature away from a very important Commonwealth Conference game, Widener and Messiah have moved up their contest Friday in Chester to a 3:00 pm start.

Both teams already have clinched a spot in next week's conference tournament, but seeding for the four-team field is undecided. Widener (24-11, 13-5 CC) sits in first place, Alvernia (23-10, 12-6) is second and Messiah (15-13, 11-7) is third.

Widener and Messiah will end regular-season league play Saturday with a noon doubleheader in Grantham, PA.

The Pride the last two weeks have notched both the league's Player and Pitcher of the Week. Senior Colin Weiss (Red Hill, PA) was picked the conference and ECAC Pitcher of the Week for last week's games and senior first baseman Michael Riverso (Philadelphia, PA) was tabbed Player of the Week. Senior pitcher Glenn Stanners (Brookhaven, PA) and freshman third baseman Michael Elfreth (Washington Twp., NJ) were honored the prior week.
