Women's Lacrosse Rolls to 16-3 Pounding of Hood

Juniors Mackenzie Lindquist (Ocean City, NJ) and Pinky Schneider (Moorestown, NJ) each matched their career highs with four goals to help Widener roll to a 16-3 Commonwealth Conference triumph at Hood in Frederick, MD.
 
Widener had things well in hand over the first 16 1/2 minutes with a 9-0 lead thanks to three goals from Lindquist and two from junior Schneider.  Senior Amy Albano (Columbia, MD), juniors Melissa Sailey (Swedesboro, NJ) and Megan Granata (Broomall, PA) as well as sophomore Megan Mills (Riverton, NJ) also scored in that span.
 
Albano and sophomore Caitlyn Mullner (Aston, PA) also tallied in the opening half for the Pride, who dominated with a 25-5 shots edge in that span and won 10-of-14 draw controls.
 
Lindquist won 10 draw controls to fall one shy of her career best set April 27, 2013 vs. Hood.  It also was her fourth career four-goal game after recording three last season.
 
Schneider had four goals April 13, 2013 against Lycoming.
 
Albano had two goals and two assists, Mills posted two and one with Sailey scoring twice for the Pride (1-7, 1-1 CC), who ended with a 43-8 shots advantage.  Junior Megan Dunn (Oxford, PA) made two saves and sophomore Kelley Dreher (Glen Rock, PA) had three caused turnovers.
 
April Ganz, Christina Murphy and Ashley Kitzmiller also scored for the Blazers (5-3, 0-2), who fell for the third time in their last four outings.
 
Widener is back on the road Wednesday at Albright, starting at 4:00 pm.
