Women’s Lacrosse Dealt 14-8 Loss at Swarthmore

Widener opened a three-goal lead near the midway point of the first half, but permitted eight straight goals spanning both halves for a 14-8 loss at Swarthmore.
 
A 2-0 deficit in the first two minutes was eradicated as five different players for Widener (0-5) scored for a 5-2 lead.  Among those, senior Amy Albano (Columbia, MD) and sophomore Megan Mills (Riverton, NJ) each had a goal and an assist.
 
But the Garnet (6-0) put home the next eight for a 10-5 lead.  Lucy Whitacre and Corinne Sommi each scored twice in that time for Swarthmore, which ended the game with a 28-25 shots edge.
 
Junior Mackenzie Lindquist (Ocean City, NJ) had two goals and four draw controls, Albano notched a goal and two assists with junior Megan Dunn (Oxford, PA) making nine saves for the Pride.

Junior Pinky Schneider (Moorestown, NJ) scored and now has a point in all five contests this season for the Pride.
 
Whitacre had four goals, three draw controls and an assist, Lizzie Kolln scored twice and Michelle Ammerman had eight saves over 30 minutes.
 
Widener is home Saturday to face Kean, starting at 1:00 pm.
