Women's Basketball Wins Juniata Holiday Tournament, Wylie Named MVP

Junior Brianna Wylie (Mount Laurel, NJ) recorded a double-double as Widener defeated Heidelberg, 55-51, in the championship game of the Juniata Holiday Tournament
 
Wylie, named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, recorded a team high 13 points and 12 rebounds in the victory for the Pride. The junior forward shot five-of-eight from the field. Wylie finished the tournament with 21 rebounds and 27 points.
 
Junior Ally Ferrucci (Vineland, NJ) added ten points and six rebounds in the second straight victory for the Pride. She shot three-of-seven from the field and one-of-one from three-point range. The junior captain finished the tournament 16 points and 11 rebounds.
 
The Pride defense held the Heidelberg (3-6) offense to a 29.5% shooting percentage from the field.
 
Freshman Julia Venturelli (Bridgewater, NJ) added ten points and three rebounds.
 
Widener (6-6) will be back in action on Saturday in conference play as they travel to take on Lycoming at 1:00 pm in Williamsport, Pa.
