Sambo Leads Men's Basketball to Victory Over Albright in Commonwealth Conference Opener

Sardayah Sambo (Middletown, DE) led men's basketball to an overtime victory over Albright in the Commonwealth Conference opener, 80-77, at the Schwartz Center.
 
The freshman guard recorded 18 points and four rebounds for the Pride. He shot nine-of-12 from the field.

Josh Marguez tied the game for Albright (3-3, 0-1 CC) to send it to overtime.
 
Junior David Nicholson (Odenton, MD) finished with 15 points, four assists, and three steals. He was a perfect ten for ten from the charity line against the Lions.
 
Forward Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The junior was four-of-four from the field and five-of-seven from the free throw line.
 
Widener (6-1, 1-0 CC) shot 50 percent from the field, while the Lions were held to 37.5 percent. The Lions were out rebounded by the Pride, 44-33.
 
The Lions were led by a 19 point effort from Omari Ringgold. He added three assists and one steal.
 
The Pride will look to make it six straight when they host Messiah in Commonwealth action at 6:00 pm on Saturday at the Schwartz Center.
