Men's Basketball Defeats Swarthmore For Seventh Straight Victory

Freshman Sardayah Sambo (Middletown, DE) led all scorers with 16 points for men's basketball as Widener held off a late push to defeat Swarthmore, 70-65, in Swarthmore, Pa.
 
Sambo shot seven-of-17 from the field and two-of-two from the free throw line in the victory. The forward added six boards, one assist, one block and one steal in the seventh straight victory for Widener (8-1, 2-0 CC).
 
Seniors Greg Lawson (Mount Holly, NJ) and Mark Pryzbylkowski (New Egypt, NJ) each added 12 points for the Pride. Lawson shot four-of-six from the free throw line and added five rebounds.
 
Pryzbylkowski added seven rebounds and two assists against Swarthmore (3-5 2-2 CC).
 
The Pride recorded seven steals and scored 14 points off of turnovers.
 
Junior David Nicholson (Philadelphia, Pa) added 11 points and four steals for the Pride.
 
Widener travels to take on Commonwealth Conference favorite, Stevenson, at 1:00 pm on Saturday in Owings Mills, MD.
