Men's Soccer Drops Regular-Season Finale Against Lycoming

Widener fought hard against a tough opponent, but fell to Lycoming 2-0 in the Commonwealth Conference finale in Williamsport, Pa.
 
Lycoming (14-2-3, 6-2 CC) received an early goal from Duc Momo in the 17th minute. Bill Kerr gave the Warriors a two goal advantage in the 62nd minute.
 
Sophomore Dave Sousa (Springfield, Pa) recorded six saves on 14 shots taken by the Warriors.  Sousa finishes the regular season with 76 saves, and ranks tied for second all-time with seven shutouts in a season.
 
Junior Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, NJ) led Widener with two shots. Junior Ross Staudt (Marlton, NJ) and Malik Krcic (Saylorsburg, Pa) and freshman Brandon Taratuski (Ambler, Pa) each added a shot for the Pride.

Remondelli finishes the regular season with 13 goals and 30 points. The junior now ranks first all-time for goals in a season and a career, as well as tied for first for points in a season and tied for second all-time in points in a career with 57.
 
Widener (10-6-1, 3-5 CC) was knocked out of contention for a conference-tournament spot with the loss. The Pride will await their fate for a possible ECAC bid, which will be announced on November 10.
