Taylor Nets Two as Men's Soccer Defeats Arcadia

Junior Eric Taylor (Bensalem, Pa) scored twice as Widener defeated Arcadia, 3-0, in Commonwealth Conference action at Leslie C. Quick Stadium.  
 
Taylor opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a shot from 30 yards out passed a diving Seth Shoap.
 
The junior struck again to give Widener (8-3-1, 2-2 CC) a two-goal advantage in the 55th minute with a shot from just inside the box.
 
Junior Tori Remondelli (Point Pleasant, NJ) added an insurance goal for the Pride in 87th minute. Remondelli's team leading 13th goal of the season was assisted by freshman John Colbert and junior Ross Staudt.

Staudt carried two defenders into the corner before he found Colbert and Remondelli open at the top of the box.
 
Remondelli now ranks second all-time in points for a season with 29 and third all-time for points in a career with 56.
 
Widener held the advantage over Arcadia (6-4-2, 1-1-1) in shots, 11-9.
 
Sophomore Dave Sousa (Springfield, Pa) recorded five saves in his sixth shutout of the season.
 
The Pride will take the pitch next when they travel to Frederick, MD on Saturday to take on Hood at 3:00 pm.
